Music has always been a powerful force in Jewel's life.
Her parents were a talented singer/songwriter duo, and there was little else
besides music to occupy her in Homer, Alaska. At age six, she began performing
with her parents. After graduating from Michigan's Interlochen Fine Arts Academy,
Jewel moved to San Diego. She eventually gave up 9-to-5 work and began living in her van.
She first attracted attention playing weekly gigs at the Innerchange Coffeehouse, and
now her love of poetry and music has resulted in her two albums. |
